My name is Carrie and I am a ceramics focused artist based out of North Carolina. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Visual Culture and a Studio Art Concentration in May of 2023. Since then, I have been a studio assistant for the lovely Andrea Keys Connell in her home studio while also partaking in a Post-Baccalaureate ceramics program under Andrea at ASU.

I make my work to express the connection between making and nature. Both the act of creation and the act of experiencing the natural world create space for imagination to flourish. I attempt to capture the ethereal and playful nature of forests, dirt, and the world growing around us within my work. From painting to ceramics and beyond, the act of shaping materials into something experimental and enchanting allows me to explore the world around me and process my life experiences in an entirely new way.
